Bidding ended on 4/13/2019. A beautifully restored slot machine, produced by Mills Novelty Co. The restored cast aluminum front panel is nickel plated and painted in light blue, paired with a wood cabinet. Advertising a $10 special reward to patrons. Complete with a single jackpot reserve and the award card displaying an engraved image of the Fremont Hotel. The machine is a Mills High Top 777 Bell and dates to roughly 1949-1952. Although some of the information presented here will be specific to Mills High Tops, a lot of it will apply to antique slot machines made by Jennings, Watling or other manufacturers, or to different models of Mills machines like the half-tops, goosenecks and others.

This is an antique Mills 1940’s era “High Top” Golden Nugget 5 cent slot machine in excellent condition. It was professionally restored when purchased and has just been a show piece ever since being purchased in 1981. The High Top model emerged in 1947 as the new generation of post WWII Mills’ machines. It’s a one arm bandit that takes real nickels. It comes with the original keys for the front and the back, service manual, a small booklet on slots called “The facts of Slots,” and a few pamphlets/flyers of different model slots what came with the original purchase. Also includes a custom cover for the machine. This is a great looking machine and will look really nice in your “man cave” or bar or rec-room, etc.Slot

Item is listed for local pick up but will work with out of state buyers if they arrange and take care of the shipping.

This site chronicles my efforts at resurrecting, repairing and restoring an antique slot machine. The machine is a Mills High Top 777 Bell and dates to roughly 1949-1952. The information presented here may prove helpful to collectors who are contemplating a restoration project of their own, but should not be taken as the last word on the subject. Any slot machine restoration project requires a lot of research, time and know-how, and no single reference can hope to provide every bit of knowledge necessary for a beginner to undertake a project of this scope. Likewise, some antique slot machines are very rare and valuable, and a poorly-done restoration can do irreparable harm to the machine and destroy a lot of monetary value.
